1980-1995
Marketing
Working with Ad and design agencies, I learned the hand-on of creating, producing, and printing strong messages.
My work with the early Apple Macintosh industry was indicative of early-adapter thinking and leading-edge work.

1991
Learning Differences
On learning that one of my children had a learning challenge, I learned all I could about the disorder, ran a local support group to help others with that disorder, and eventually became board-president of the leading, national organization for that disorder.
2000
Pastoral Counseling
During this time, I became in demand as a speaker and counselor. I was a guest-lecturer at Universities, as a keynote speaker and session-expert at numerous conferences, and a better father within my own family. I also started or moderated numerous support groups. I discovered that faith and religion were often core-issues with some clients so attended a two-year Master's program in Pastoral Counseling in order to have a better-understanding and working-vocabulary.
2002
EMI: Emotional Mastery, Inc
I co-founded an organization that performed a meta-study of the best-practices of existing emotional-management programs towards developing their own programs. Then, we worked on an equally excellent delivery of our programs.
Our program reached hundreds of county, federal, and prison clients with recidivism rates under 20% (industry rates near 50%**).
* A program patterned after an Ernie Larsen program. ** no same or similar crimes within six-months.
- This was to focus on serving Minnesota out-state counties, that had too-few judicial resources.
- Our programs went "on the road", presenting our programs in the cities where clients lived.
- This program was completely funded by clients and grants, making it budget-cut resistant to counties.
- The logistics were designed to accommodate client work and family schedules. This meant we often met on weekends.
- Whenever possible, our program was framed within a parenting model as individuals will change and make-sacrifices for family that they would never do otherwise.
- Clients were offered free, non-professional weekly follow-up meetings towards additional positive growth.*

Today
Based on our programs, I have developed one-on-one and departmental training-versions of our programs for Executives and H.R. Departments. I am currently working with city governments to embed our training into their existing programs. Nothing I've done has come close to the profound effect of these programs. My goal is to bring them to like-minded organizations.
